The Derwent Dam Museum is situated in the west tower of the Derwent Dam in Derbyshire.
The museum is best reached by car from the A57 Snake Road by taking the road signposted ‘Derwent Valley’ adjacent to the Ashopton Viaduct.
Continue along this road until you reach the Upper Derwent Valley (Fairholmes) Visitor Centre, where parking, refreshments and WC facilities are available. The road between the visitor centre and the Dam is closed to traffic at weekends and Bank Holidays so you will need to continue walking for approximately 500 metres until you reach the Dam on your right hand side.
Buses 242 (Sheffield – Castleton), 89A, 222 and 373 all stop quite near the museum but some routes
